Hamann: If Bayern Cannot Reach a Contract Agreement with Musiala, They Might as Well Sell Him in the Summer Transfer Window
German football legend Dietmar Hamann discussed the contract renewals of Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané during a program, saying that Bayern's top priority should be negotiating a new deal with Musiala. He suggested that if an agreement can't be reached, Bayern should consider selling him in the next summer transfer window.
Hamann stated: "If Bayern cannot reach an agreement with Musiala on a contract extension, selling him in the summer window next year would make sense."
"Bayern certainly wouldn't want to lose a player on a free transfer; David Alaba’s case is a good example of that."
"Given the current situation, regarding the contract extensions of Musiala and Sané, negotiating a new contract with Musiala is more urgent for Bayern."
"If I were working for the club, I would wait until next February or March to discuss a contract extension with Sané."
"I'm a big fan of Sané, but he can't control his injuries, and his injury issues may continue to affect him in the long term, recurring repeatedly."
"You have to look at what a player has achieved over the past four or five years, and for Sané, who wants to secure a top salary within the team, it’s not enough."
Sané's contract is set to expire at the end of this season, while Musiala's contract runs until the summer of 2026.
