Real Madrid hold informal interest in Pedro Porro, could step up chase
Real Madrid have an ‘informal’ interest in Pedro Porro, who they view as a viable alternative to Trent Alexander-Arnold next summer.
According to AS via Sport Witness, Pedro Porro seems like an alternative target for Real Madrid in case they fail in their pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The €45 million Tottenham star has been gathering interest in the market of late, as Real Madrid will find it challenging to negotiate with Spurs over a fee.
Pedro Porro has made it to the transfer reports both in England and Spain of late following links to some essential clubs around. The Spanish full-back, an important player for Tottenham, could be at the centre of a transfer battle between Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Manchester City have begun working to sign him as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker ahead of next summer. Real Madrid also hold an ‘informal’ interest in the €45 million Tottenham star, who will complete two years in north London this January.
Tottenham are aware of the growing interest in the 25-year-old and are also open to making a contract offer to keep him at the club. However, Spurs are known to get good value for their players in the market, and that might be the case with the Spaniard, as chairman Daniel Levy will not oppose a large enough offer.
Real Madrid view Porro as an alternative to Trent Alexander-Arnold and could begin making enquiries for the Tottenham star in the coming period. They will face competition from Manchester City and the challenge of negotiating with Levy over the fee, as the Spaniard might be an expensive acquisition next summer.
Real Madrid prefer Alexander-Arnold
Real Madrid might have an ‘informal’ interest in Porro, but their big priority is the signing of Alexander-Arnold. They are progressing well in background talks for the Liverpool man, as there’s a widespread conviction that he will be playing football at the Bernabeu next season.
If they fail to sign Alexander-Arnold, the €45 million Tottenham star could become their best alternative to the Englishman. Real Madrid will be a big club to say no to for Porro, as he could view it as his biggest career opportunity and even ask to be sold if Carlo Ancelotti’s side come calling.
