Van Nistelrooy: Scoring 5 goals? Seems like our luck has suddenly turned around
In Ruud van Nistelrooy's first match as Manchester United’s interim manager, the Red Devils defeated Leicester City 5-2 at home, advancing to the League Cup quarterfinals, thanks to braces from Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, as well as a goal from Garnacho.
In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Van Nistelrooy said, "I must say we also had some luck on our side, but I'm happy for Casemiro, Garnacho, and Bruno Fernandes. We scored five goals today, but previously against West Ham and Fenerbahçe, we created many chances that we couldn’t convert. Suddenly, we got a bit of luck tonight, which made this a great evening."
"Our objective has always been to respond and attack. After Leicester scored, our players reacted brilliantly, and they deserve credit for that. I’m delighted that our fans can go home happy."
