Garnacho refused to give interviews in Spanish, claiming he would only accept interviews in English
According to Argentine journalist Emiliano Raggi, while working in Madrid, Garnacho refused to give interviews in Spanish at the Ballon d'Or ceremony, stating that he would only accept interviews in English.
The journalist asked Garnacho, "Can you spare a minute for an Argentine interview?" Garnacho did not look at him and told his companions, "I only accept interviews in English." The journalist claimed that Garnacho later gave an interview to a Spanish media outlet in English, but video footage from the scene showed him conducting an interview in Spanish with RODE.
The journalist then requested another interview with Garnacho in Spanish, but was declined, leaving nearby French and Brazilian journalists shocked. The journalist concluded by expressing his inability to understand Garnacho's refusal to give interviews in Spanish to Argentine media, especially considering that he is an Argentine national player and an Argentine himself.
