Hamann: I believe some Dortmund players do not want Terzić to continue as head coach, and they have too much power
In the 8th round of the Bundesliga, Dortmund suffered a 1-2 defeat to Augsburg. On *Sky Sports Germany*, Hamann commented that Dortmund’s players have been given too much power and that some players now do not want Terzić to continue as head coach.
Hamann said, “There are many players who no longer want Terzić as coach. He’s been the club’s most successful coach in recent years, having won the domestic cup and nearly won the league title, as well as reaching the Champions League final. But the team no longer wants him. Now we have the next coach. I have the feeling that several players in the squad are saying, ‘I don’t want this coach (Terzić) to continue.’”
Hamann also analyzed Dortmund’s current situation, saying, “I feel that after ten games, some players no longer want this coach. The players have been given too much power. Choosing a coach is still a matter for the club to decide. They should all abide by it. Players are employees of the club; it’s none of their business. I feel that some players are taking advantage of this situation.”
He went on to add, “I don’t want to spark a debate about the coach either. Terzić is a young coach, and you have to give him time. The question is, how much time do you want to give him, or how much time will he be given? His position is already shaky because Dortmund’s start to the season has been very poor.”
