Manchester City goalkeeper Steffen is set to return to Major League Soccer

Manchester City goalkeeper Steffen is set to return to Major League Soccer (MLS) to join the Colorado Rapids.



According to The Athletic, the Colorado Rapids have signed Steffen from Manchester City on a three-year contract with an additional one-year extension option. Steffen will not occupy a designated player slot in MLS. Additionally, the Rapids have traded the transfer rights of goalkeeper William Yarbrough, whose contract is expiring, to the San Jose Earthquakes. Steffen will replace Yarbrough as the starting goalkeeper for the Colorado Rapids.

Steffen missed the first half of the current European season due to a knee injury, having undergone surgery last summer, which led to him missing the opportunity for a loan move from Manchester City.

Journalist Romano mentioned that Steffen has completed the medical arranged by the Colorado Rapids, and the deal is 100% done. He will be leaving England and returning to the United States next week.
